Aluminium sealing tape for PIR boards, 50 mm
Thermano / termPIR / Recticel / Bauder / Unilin
Width: 50 mm
Length: 50 m
Thickness: 50 μm
Gas-tight
Adhesive for aluminium facings
Temperature resistance: −20 °C to +120 °C
Resistant to grease, acids and moisture
This gas-tight tape has an adhesive for the aluminium facings of PIR boards. It seals board joints and helps maintain continuity of the insulation system on roofs, walls and floors. The tape seals the facing; it does not change the thermal conductivity of the PIR core.

Description
Tapes and seals for joints
Roof insulation comprises many boards, while the covering has seams, edges and changes of direction. Tape and seals connect these points into a continuous protective layer. In a house, workshop or farm building, they help maintain the seal where one sheet or panel ends and the next begins.
On PIR boards with a compatible facing, aluminium tape seals the surface joint between adjacent boards. On a refurbished loft it can connect facings across the roof slope, including cut edges. Where the system uses the facing to limit water vapour movement, tape specified for that facing also helps maintain the vapour control layer at the joints.
Flexible tape follows the course of the joint. A self-adhesive product can be applied directly to a prepared surface without separate fixings along its length. This helps with long seams on a large wall and with accurately finishing short insulation edges in a small room.
A gasket has a different purpose: it fills the specified space between adjoining elements. Some fit a roof sheet profile; others are used at flat joints. At a profiled roof, choose the shape to match the sheet and leave any ventilation path required by the system open.
The effect is particularly noticeable in heated buildings. Limiting draughts through joints helps the insulation do its job, whether at a workstation in a workshop or in a room under the roof. Tape or a seal completes the detail where neighbouring materials meet.
Select the tape width or gasket profile for the surfaces, conditions and the layer’s function. The range of sizes covers regular seams and short lengths around corners. Relatively small quantities can connect many separate boards and flashings into a continuous building envelope.
SteelProfil supplies tapes and gaskets alongside insulation and roofing materials. Ask about current prices, promotions and stock, including first- and second-grade panels and sheets, when choosing accessories for your wall or roof joints.
